Edward M. Aloe is a Managing Member of CalCap Financial and serves as a member of the loan committee. In addition, he is Founder and Managing Principal of CALCAP Advisors Inc. For the past 22 years, Ed has been involved in the areas of acquisition and syndication, as well as commercial and residential finance. Mr. Aloe is currently the Managing Member of multiple LLC’s that own multi-family, retail, office and industrial properties. Ed spent 14 years at IndyMac Bank, where he was most recently a Regional President, specializing in the purchase and securitization of residential mortgages. Ed has personally been involved in the purchase of over $10 billion in residential mortgages. Mr. Aloe holds a B.B.A. degree in Business from the University of San Diego, with a minor in English. Mark Mozilo is a Managing Member of CalCap Financial and lead Underwriter. In addition, he is a Principal of CalCap Advisors Inc. Since 1986, Mark has been involved in the mortgage business and acquisition of land and apartment units as a Managing Member of multiple LLC’s. Mark recently spent the last 12 years running various lending activities for IndyMac Bank as an EVP and CEO. Mark's range of responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing, recruiting and training, operations, and strategic and financial planning.
Prior to joining IndyMac Bank, Mark founded a mortgage banking firm, Keros Mozilo Mortgage. His company focused on niche lending for wholesale mortgage brokers. Mark also worked 6 years for Countrywide Financial as a Regional Vice President. Mr. Mozilo earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, and has earned the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.
Mark serves on several boards which include; Shelter Partnership of Los Angeles, Wellness Community of San Gabriel Valley and University of San Diego's Real Estate Committee. Mark is also a member of the San Gabriel Valley Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Patrick A. Wakeman is a Managing Member of CalCap Financial and serves on the loan committee. In addition, he is a Founder and Principal of CALCAP Advisors. He specializes in multi-family and commercial properties, REO purchases, and defaulted Note acquisitions. Pat began his career with CB Richard Ellis in 1988 handling leasing and sales of commercial properties, eventually representing over one million square feet of buildings owned by institutional and developer clients such as Ford Motor Company, Allstate Insurance, Koll Company, T. Rowe Price Mutual Funds and Transamerica Insurance. In 1995, Pat founded Landmark Realty Group, a firm dedicated to commercial property investment, syndication and brokerage. Working with a close-knit group of investors, he formed multiple LLCs and LPs to purchase apartment and commercial projects throughout the U.S. Pat is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a B.B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting. Valerie Brown began her career in mortgage banking in 2001 as a Customer Account Manager for IndyMac Bank’s Home Construction Lending Division. During this time, she trained mortgage brokers and bankers in selling construction products. She helped increased volume by over 70%, to become the top sales team in the Nation.
In 2003, Valerie joined the Correspondent Services Division and assisted in building it into one of the top ten lenders. She managed the daily loan production for over 50 customers and increased monthly loan production to over $200 million.
Valerie earned her B.A in International Relations with a Business Minor from the University of Southern California. She is active in Junior Achievement, a national non-profit organization specializing in training young adults how to budget their incomes. She is a Board member of Holy Angels School in Arcadia, California, and travels to Russia each year to teach summer camp to orphans.
